Dr. Wang has over thirty years of management experience with multinational corporations in North America and Asia. Dr. Wang worked for General Motors from 1985 to 2005 in various managerial roles.

Dr. Wang joined Shanghai Automotive Industry Corp., the largest Chinese auto group, as Vice President in March 2006 and became the CEO of Beijing Automotive Industry Corp. (BAIC), the fifth largest China auto group, in Feb. 2008. Under Dr. Wangs leadership, BAIC increased vehicle sales by 230% and profits nearly 700%. Dr. Wang led the negotiations to acquire the core IPR and key equipment and tooling of Saab in 2009 and developed a new car brand in China with several models launched in 2012. Dr. Wang also led the BAIC acquisition of Inalfa, a global tier I supplier of auto roof systems in 2011.

Dr. Wang received his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Cornell University. Dr. Wang is a member of Committee 100 and is the founding Chairman of Chinese Association of Greater Detroit, the Chairman of US China Automotive Exchange and the Chairman of the China Global Automotive Executive Council.

     Ling has 20 years of experience in the Chinese and international automotive industry. He is an expert in cross-border investment projects and M&A in the automotive industry. He worked for Shanghai Automotive Industry Corp. (SAIC) from 2000 to 2008 as Senior Engineering, Project Manager, as well as Senior Manager of Supply Chain. He joined the Beijing Automotive Industry Corp. (BAIC) in 2008 as Deputy Director of the Office of the General Manager and Member of Joint Procurement Committee at the Beijing Automotive Technology Center (BATC).
     Ling served as a founding member of BAIC own-brand development team and lead the efforts in acquiring core IPR from SAAB as well as establishing the R&D, Supply Chain and Quality Control platforms for the development and production of BAIC Senova brand vehicles.
     He holds Master Degree in Engineering from Hefei University of Technology and Senior Engineer professional title in China.

Sean Peng is a Managing Director of the Beijing office where he leads WI Harper’s China operations and oversees investment opportunities in China. Sean has over 20 years of experience in the high technology industry, direct investment, and fund management in the Greater China and the U.S.

Prior to joining WI Harper, Sean was a Managing Director at H&Q Asia Pacific where he was responsible for direct investments in the Greater China region. Before joining H&QAP in 2002, Sean was a Senior Vice President of Fortune Venture Investment Group where he was responsible for venture capital investments in the U.S. and the Greater China. Sean also served as the President of Golden Technology Venture Investment Corp. and Emerging Technology Venture Investment Corp. Prior to joining Fortune Venture Management Group in 1996, Sean was with LSI Logic Corporation for seven years as a R&D engineer in the U.S. and a Marketing Manager in the Asia Pacific.

Dr. Qian has great investment experiences in automobile, aviation, capital equipment manufacture, petrochemical and energy industries. Before joined Ophoenix, he was President of Baota Capital and Sr. VP of Credit First Financial Leasing Co. He has served at senior management positions in product development, competitive intelligence for corporate strategy with Fortune Global 500 companies, General Motors, Ford Motor Company and Caterpillar in USA. In his early career, he has worked with Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) in airlines planning and reformation. After returned to China in 2003, Dr. Qian has served as Vice President of Torch Automotive Co., responsible for International Business. He has led to set up JVs with Eaton Corp. and Cummins Inc. Since 2005, Dr. Qian has served as Group Vice President of Weichai Power Co., Ltd., and President of Weichai-Tech (Shanghai) Investment Co., responsible for Corporate Strategy, International Business and Emerging Business Investment. He has led team, formed global strategies for the group. In the last five years, Dr. Qian took initiatives, started oversea M&A activities and global expansion at Weichai. He is responsible for acquisition strategy, and business integration plans in Boudauin, a French engine maker acquision (2009), Linde Hydraulics and Kion Group, the world second largest Germany based material handling equipment manufacturer, acquisitions (2012). Most recently, Dr. Qian has served as Ferretti project leader, responsible for acquisition of the world largest Italy based luxury yacht group. For domestic business, Dr. Qian is responsible for strategic new business investment. He has led to invest in new energy, e-commerce and aftermarket business areas. During his tenure, the company’s business has grown about 10 times with sales revenue of over 150 billion RMB, oversea business has reached almost 1/3. The group has achieved a globally well balanced business structure.

Dr. Qian has received his Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Kentucky, M.S. degree in Aerospace Engineering from Northwest Polytechnic University, has studied in Michigan State University EMBA program.

  Lei Zhao joined Ophoenix when it was established  2011 as Assistant to the Chairman, and became Senior VP in Nov 2014. Lei has played an integral role in several of Ophoenix’s recent M&A transactions.
Lei joined Pulead Technology, a leading Chinese EV battery manufacture in 2008. She was responsible for government affairs and participated in various EV projects managed by Beijing municipal government. She was involved in the process of negotiations between BAIC and Pulead to set up the EV battery joint venture - Pride Power in 2009.
Lei worked in the Financial Controlling Department of PTD Group of Siemens China Headquarters from 2004-2008.
Lei has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Beijing Foreign Studies University, and is currently an EMBA candidate of HEC Paris.

Victor has over 10 years of experience in Industrial Research and International Investments. He worked at the Economic Policy Institute in the United States with a focus on Chinese Industrial Policy. Upon returning to China, he worked at China Aviation Industry Group (AVIC), China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC) and Hanergy Holding Group.

He was involved in several outward investment and M&A deals by major Chinese corporations. Victor holds Master’s Degree in Economics from The University of Missouri.

Peter Liu

With over 20 years of experience in venture capital, Mr. Peter Liu is widely regarded as a pioneer of venture capitalists in Asia. Born in Beijing and raised in Taipei, Peter was educated in the United States. Prior to founding WI Harper Group, Peter was a general partner of Walden International Asia where he established joint venture partnerships with several Asian governments and leading enterprises and helped raise US$400 million, including its China Walden Fund. He has rich experience in investing in and advising high-tech companies throughout the United States and Asia, and has a track record of securing significant capital appreciation for investors.

In 1985, Peter co-founded Walden International, currently a firm with US$1.7 billion under management. Peter has personally invested in over 100 high tech companies in Greater China and has a proven track record of creating value for LPs. His investments include DivX, Creative Technology, CommerceOne, Intraware, S3, ISSI and many other publicly listed companies.

Peter holds several directorships including Committee of 100, The 1990 Institute and the San Francisco and Shanghai Sister City Committee. He is also a founder of Monte Jade Association and an Honorary Board Member of Hua Yuan Science and Technology Association. Additionally, Peter co-founded the Taipei Venture Capital Association in Taiwan and also serves as a director of the Korea Restructuring Fund. He is also the recipient of Asia Pacific Leadership Award presented by the University of San Francisco Center for the Pacific Rim.
